Some options that you can offer anyone who is struggling with their use:

 

1. Counseling and Support at GMHC — There are several options for counseling at GMHC:

  • Counseling and Risk Reduction Services – Short-term risk reduction counseling – counselors help come up with a plan to reduce the risk in your life. Call: 212.367.1384
  • Mental Health Counseling – Team 119 – see Team 119 description

2. Crystal Meth Anonymous Meetings (12-step program) — There are 30 meetings a week in NYC.

3. Outpatient programs
There are many — these are programs that offer group and individual counseling with a requirement that if you are enrolled you come to at least some form of counseling as much as once a day or as little as three times a week. Abstinence is required to be part of these programs. Three we recommend:

4. Inpatient Programs
Inpatient programs are where you “go away” for a period of time, usually at least a month to facility for individual and group therapy. It also offers an opportunity to “detox” from the drug. Abstinence is required to be enrolled in these programs. Three we recommend:
